If you are struggling with affording a privet piercing training course and your under 25 there may be other options for you to access the industry. It is not guaranteed you will be able to access government funding. Different parts of the UK may have different illegibility and funding available. However your options are out laid below, It might be a good idea to speak to your local careers centre to find out what is available in your area.

The difference between private training and training through an educational provider, Is private training often fast tracks you into your chosen career. So it is a great choice for somebody eager to get into this industry.

Traineeship

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. It can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year, though most traineeships last for less than 6 months. You can apply if you’re:

  • eligible to work in England
  • unemployed and have little or no work experience
  • aged 16 to 24 and qualified up to and including Level 3 (equivalent to A Level)

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study. As an apprentice you’ll:

  • be an employee earning a wage and getting holiday pay
  • work alongside experienced staff
  • gain job-specific skills
  • get time for training and study related to your role (at least 20% of your normal working hours)

Apprenticeships take 1 to 5 years to complete depending on their level.

Who can start an apprenticeship

To start an apprenticeship, you’ll need to be:

  • 16 or over
  • living in England
  • not in full-time education

Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment.
The funding covers:

Employers can spread the job start dates up until 31 March 2022. You’ll get funding for 6 months once the young person has started their job. Further funding is available for training and support so that young people on the scheme can get a job in the future.
